Team Stewarts

About

This September, a group of 25 riders from Stewarts will complete the London to Paris cycle ride and raise funds for Back Up, a wonderful charity supporting people affected by spinal cord injury.  The team will complete the challenging 300 mile journey in three days.

The team will ride in memory of our dear friend and Partner, Danny Turnbull.  Danny was intstrumental in opening up the 3-day London to Paris route for handcyclists when he completed the event in 2012.  Danny sadly passed away in April 2017 following a protracted battle with cancer.  In 2018, we formed the No Limits movement in his memory.  Danny's son, Lucas, watched his Dad cycle in to Paris in 2012 as a 6 year old and we are proud to annouce that Lucas will follow his Dad's journey and will join us on the road to Paris this year.

Recent data has revealed that, every two hours, someone in the UK will sustain a spinal cord injury. It could be as the result of an illness or something as simple as falling down the stairs. Spinal cord injury can affect anyone at any time. It could affect you.

Back Up understand that spinal cord injury can be devastating, but we believe it shouldn’t stop anyone from getting the most out of life. All our services are designed and delivered by people affected by spinal cord injury who’ve been there and can understand the challenges faced.

We have set a fundraising target of £500,000.  The Stewarts Foundation has covered the vast majority of the costs of the event which means that all donations will make a huge difference and have a significant impact to Back Up.

Team members:  Stuart Dench, Dan Herman, Emma Hatley, James Price, Keith Thomas, Julian Chamberlayne, Charles Edwards, Peter Neenan, Sarah Stewart, Nadia Krueger-Young, Anjali Krishnan, Ben Townsend, Mo Bhaskaran, Anna Wiseman, Ben Rogers, Katherine Fitter, Daniel Wilmot, Kara Smith, Sophie Faulkner, Jonathan Halliwell, Simran Budwal, Aish Jagadeeswaran, Isabelle Churchill.
