Transform lives with every pedal - Sign up and join us for this incredible cycling challenge for Back Up.
Over the course of 3 days, you will cycle 450km on the roads between London and Paris. With rolling road closures, you’ll ride safely without having to stop for traffic lights or junctions. There will be two different speed groups led by experienced Ride Captains. On the final day, you’ll enjoy the rare and privileged finale of cycling on traffic free roads into Paris as one huge peloton, finishing at the Eiffel Tower.

Your participation will push you to your limits but the impact of your fundraising goes far beyond the ride. Every mile you cycle and every pound you raise will help transform the lives of people with a spinal cord injury.

This iconic ride was pioneered for handcyclists by Danny Turnbull, a former trustee of Back Up. Danny’s participation back in 2012 had a huge impact on all the other riders who took part, proving just whats possible for people with a spinal cord injury. In 2017, Danny very sadly passed away at the age of 43 after an ongoing battle with cancer. This ride is Danny’s legacy and shows there are #NoLimits when it comes to what can be achieved.

This event is open to up to 5 handcyclists who have a good level of fitness.

Every two hours, someone in the UK will sustain a spinal cord injury. It could be as the result of an illness or something as simple as falling down the stairs. Spinal cord injury can affect anyone at any time. It could affect you.

Back Up understand that spinal cord injury can be devastating, but we believe it shouldn’t stop anyone from getting the most out of life. All our services are designed and delivered by people affected by spinal cord injury who’ve been there and can understand the challenges faced.

We would like to thank The Stewarts Foundation who are generously funding the main costs of this ride. This means that all of the money fundraised by participants will go straight to Back Up to deliver vital support for people with spinal cord injury.
